How loud are Top Fuel Dragsters, in db's?
Can someone point me to documented evidence on how loud top fuel dragsters (or funny cars) are at the starting line at launch? In decibels?
I've been around car stereos with documented SPL (sound pressure levels) of 150 decibles. I'm certain that Nitro Methane burning dragsters are louder, but has anyone ever measured them? What was the result?

P.S. my estimate....170+ db's
In 1970. 71, & 72 I was assigned to the starting line at Indianapolis Raceway Park for the US Nationals as a track employee. I was told by the NHRA that the sound level could excede 200db. They provided me with hearing protection to meet that level of noise.
