Buying a used Police car.?
Howdy ya'll.
I was recently thinking of buying a used Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor , I fought a few deals on the internet, And I've come upon one similar to this one in the image:

It has been stripped of the lights, siren, cage and decals.
It still has the Front push bar,Remote spotlights,Steel wheels and Police Interceptor badge,
So my question is:
How will other drivers react to it? I mean to the untrained eye it looks like a Unmarked Crown vic especially due to the push bar...
How will the authorities react to seeing one of these? I wouldn't want to get pulled over every 5 minutes due to the officer thinking I'm trying to imitate an officer.

Depends somewhat on who had it. couple points: police cars are often abused but do have a maintenance schedule so engines and transmissions are often in good shape yet when sold. Brakes and tires, exhaust work often needed-- but many cab companies will do that to ex squad cars and drive them for years. Second is the model- the Crown Vic commercial/police issue is one of the toughest cars around- the engines are often the low compression but large displacement versions meant for abuse with larger oil capacity, big radiators and the transmissions on a couple I've seen have drain plugs on the pans for quick service at time of engine oil change and have the external filter the same as Ryder trucks- this results in transmission life double 'normal' use by drivers who rarely service transmissions as recommended. Suspension components are larger than regular pieces, tougher- but do cost a bit more to replace. Front engine/rear drive is easier to service than front drive vehicles- Ujoints for $20.00 beats front axle replacement for $200.00. Tires are likely to be larger than 'standard' as in a 15 inch wheel compared to 14 inchers and ground clearance a couple inches higher. Minor detraction- ride may be a bit rougher depending on tires and mileage is less than say a Taurus. Push bar means extra protection for hitting with front in traffic- locally that means deer wont get into radiator.
